I pulled the fuse for the alarm and horn on mine. You can usually get the alarm to turn off by opening the trunk with the key though. I can't say for sure on the 8, but I had random issues with car alarm going off on a different vehicle and it was the hood switch... gets exposed to a lot of weather and the connection is intermittent..
